ITEC Day 2021: Civilian Alumni Meet

          The High Commission of India in Seychelles celebrated “Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day 2021: Civilian Alumni Meet at Savoy Seychelles Resort, Victoria-Mahe, on 27th December 2021.

          High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Seychelles, Gen. Dalbir Singh Suhag delivered the welcome remarks and talked about the ITEC program. He informed that more than 200,000 people from 160 partner countries, including around 1100 from Seychelles have benefited from the ITEC capacity-building training program.

          ‘ITEC Day’ is an event organised by the High Commission to bring all ITEC Alumni together so that they can share experiences and benefits of ITEC courses in providing expertise in various fields of knowledge, which contribute to the capacity building of friendly foreign countries. With over fifty years of providing vital training in various fields, the ITEC programme of the Ministry of External Affairs of Government of India is based on two main pillars: (a) Development cooperation incorporating the idea of partnership and mutual benefit, and (b) Development cooperation based on needs and priorities determined by the partner country.

          Mr. Gamini Herath, Auditor General of the Republic of Seychelles, who is also an ITEC alumni was the Chief Guest on the occasion also recounted his experience of ITEC training.

          The event included screening of a short film on ITEC, and was followed by presentations made by ITEC Civilian Alumni Ms. Ruiz Brunil Josette and Mr. Peter James Roseline about their experiences with the ITEC courses.
