Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign on 7 March 2024. On the click of a button by the Prime Minister, the Chalo India website was launched along with the Prime Minister’s message regarding the role of Indian diaspora in becoming Indian tourism ambassadors - a clarion call to the Indian diaspora members to encourage 5 non-Indian friends to travel and experience Incredible India..

With more than 30 million overseas Indians, the Indian diaspora is the largest diaspora population in the world. Rooted to India in mind and spirit, while contributing to the development of the country they have made their homes in, they are real global influencers.

Seychelles is home to more than 5000 members of the Indian diaspora. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s launch of the Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign was watched with great enthusiasm by members of the diaspora at the High Commission of India, who expressed their appreciation of this novel initiative and excitement at being part of it.
