The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and Office of Auditor General (OAG) of Seychelles signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in Public Sector Audit. The MoU was signed by Shri Girish Chandra Murmu, Comptroller and Auditor General of India and Shri Gamini Herath, Auditor General of Seychelles on 21st October 2024 at the OAG Headquarters, Unity House in Seychelles. CAG, along with his delegation, is on an official visit to Seychelles from 21-22 October 2024.

2.            The MoU seeks to promote and develop the cooperation between the CAG and OAG in order to strengthen the institutions’ professional capacity and improve methodologies in the field of audit of public finance. It also encompasses organizing capacity development programmes and training courses between the two Supreme Audit Institutions of India and Seychelles.

3.            As part of his visit, Shri Murmu also called on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles Hon. Roger Mancienne and the Chairperson of Finance and Public Accounts Committee Hon. Sebastien Pillay and discussed the significance of cooperation between CAG and OAG.

4.            India and Seychelles share a cordial relationship and the signing of the MoU between CAG and OAG will further augment the ambit of bilateral cooperation in the important domain of public sector audit.
