75th  Republic Day Celebration

1. High Commission of India celebrated the 75th Republic Day of India on 26th January, 2024. A flag unfurling ceremony was organized on the morning of 26th January at Palais des Sports, Roche Caiman Sports Complex. The event was attended by several prominent members of the Indian diaspora, NRIs and friends of India. High Commissioner delivered his address and excerpts from the Hon’ble President’s speech on the eve of Republic Day were read out by the Second Secretary. The event concluded with a cultural performance of Bharatanatayan.

2. High Commission organised a reception at Kempinski Seychelles Resort on the evening of 26 January. The event was attended by H.E. Mr Wavel Ramakalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles, several other Ministers, Speaker of National Assembly, Attorney General, other senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent members of Indian Diaspora and friends of India.

3. High Commissioner and Foreign Minister Sylvestre Radegonde addressed those gathered raising a toast to India-Seychelles friendship.

4. A video on India-Seychelles bilateral engagements in 2023 and a cultural dance performance also formed part of the programme.
