COVID-19 Pledge

On 8th October 2020, the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi launched a Jan Andolan Campaign (Public Awareness Campaign) on COVID 19, a low cost, high intensity campaign driven by people’s participation, with the key message of 'wear mask, follow physical distancing, and maintain hand hygiene'. He said, together, we will succeed and win against COVID-19. The Prime Minister said “India's COVID-19 fight is people driven and gets great strength from our COVID warriors.”

Following this, a COVID-19 pledge with three key messages – “Wear Mask, Follow Physical Distancing, and Maintain Hand Hygiene” was taken at the High Commission of India at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 14th October, 2020. The pledge was administered by the High Commissioner, General Dalbir Singh Suhag to the officers and staff of the High Commission, and officers deputed under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme to Seychelles.

Several posters and banners advocating use of mask, frequent washing of hands and maintaining social distance has been put up in the High Commission of India premises to raise awareness and encourage people to adopt COVID-19 appropriate behaviours.

The High Commission of India is committed to take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the deadly virus in Seychelles.
