Press Release: Tree plantation drive on the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day 28th July, 2021

          The High Commission of India in collaboration with the Seychelles National Parks Authority (SNPA), organised a Tree Plantation Activity at the Grand Anse Unit of SNPA. The activity was organised in commemoration of World Nature Conservation Day, which falls on July 28th each year. This year, the High Commission of India is celebrating India at 75- Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a celebration of 75 years of India’s independence and plantation of 75 endemic trees symbolises the 75 years of India’s independence.

High Commissioner of India, General Dalbir Singh Suhag, spoke about the importance of nature conservation and protecting the environment. He donated COVID-19 relief supplies of masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers to SNPA. A donation of pressure washer and extendable ladder was also made by the Indian Association of Seychelles to SNPA. The activity was organised as per the current guidelines of the Public Health Authority and keeping the social distancing norms in place.
